純米酒バー　レポート

仙台の熱心な日本酒ファンの必須イベント、ジャズフェス。（仙台定禅寺ジャズストリートフェスティバル）その理由は宮城の地酒を気軽に味わえるからだ。

「純米酒バー」は宮城純米酒サポーターズ倶楽部（MJSC）というボランティアグループによって

７年前に始まった。　日本酒を愛する飲み手が一般消費者に宮城の酒の良さをアピールするのが

目的である。

「普通は蔵元さんや酒屋さん、飲食店などが行うことを普通の日本酒ファンがイベントを運営し、

お客さんに自分が飲んでおいしいお酒を勧める。これは日本でもここだけというくらい珍しいのです。」

MJSCのスタッフの関口さんは語った。

近年　その健康的なイメージもあり、日本酒は世界的にもブームである。

しかし、いまだに「酒は強い」という誤解があるのも事実。

同行の外国人ゲストはどのような感想を持つだろうか？

そのうちの一人は一口すすり、「強い」。　しかし、すぐに日本酒の味に魅了されたようだ。

おいしそうに杯を重ねていた。　他の外国人参加者も試飲カップを片手に日本酒の講義に耳を傾けていた。

酒を味わうだけでなく、他の来場者との楽しい会話もこのイベントの魅力。

隣通しに座った人が心地よいジャズの調べをバックにおしゃべりに花を咲かせている。

MJSCはまた、若い日本酒ファンへのPRにオリジナルグッズを作っている。

これまでＴ-シャツや前掛けなどを作ってきた。　熱心な若い日本酒ファンは他の日本酒イベントにもＴシャツを着てくる人もいる。

多くの日本酒ファンが毎年純米酒バーの到来を心待ちにしている。

ジャズフェスの時期に日本酒で乾杯はいかがだろうか？

Junmai-shu bar report For enthusiastic sake lovers in Sendai,

Jazz fes (Sendai Jozenji street jazz festival) is a must-go event.

Why?Great chance to taste Miyagi’s premium sake at cheap price.

“Junmai shu Bar” was started by the volunteer group,

“Miyagi Junmai-shu Supporter’s Club” (MJSC) seven years ago.

The purpose is a promotion that general consumers serve Miyagi’s high quality sake

as “sake lovers”.“Usually sake brewers, retail shops and bars boost their products,

but sake fans organize an event, entertain visitors, and do a promotion of their favorite Miyagi’s sake.

Their approach is so unique in Japan”, one of the MJSC’s staff, Ms. Sekiguchi says.

Recently sake is booming in foreign countries for its healthy images.Still there are a few

misunderstandings that “Sake is strong booze.”How about our foreign guests accompanied with us?

One of foreign participants got a sip and said, “It’s strong”.But soon she seemed to be

enchanted by the taste of sake.She enjoyed having it after another.Other participants

listened to the lecture from other sake fans with tasting cups.

Not only tasting premium sake, but also chatting with other sake mates is the event’s appeal.

Anybody sitting next you can enjoy a conversation over sake with comfy jazz tunes.

MJSC also makes their novelty products to appeal to young sake fan.They have made

T-shirts and an original apron only for the event.Some young sake enthusiasts wear it on other

sake events too.

Many sake fans are longing for Junmai-shu bar coming every year.Why don’t you

meet around “Sendai jazz fes” season, and have a toast at “Junmai shu bar”?Kampai,Cheers!
