#69 仙台近郊で被災地訪問をご希望の方に「閖上の日和山」を案内しています

海外から仙台にいらした方々を観光地や被災地へ案内するボランティア活動行っているものです。

お客様から被災地訪問のご希望が入りますと、仙台近郊という枠組みがある場合には、蒲生・荒浜・閖上・空港付近が候補になります。

お客様のご希望を優先しますが、特にない場合は、閖上の日和山にご案内することが多くございます。

日和山という漁師さん達が海を見渡す小高い丘が海沿いにあるからです。

何もなくなってしまった周りの被災状況が３６０度見渡せます。

僅か６．３ｍ高さの小さな丘ですが、祠も慰霊塔も石碑も松ノ木もあります。

亡くなられた方々のご冥福もお祈りできます。松ノ木には丘のてっぺんから２．１ｍ高さのところに傷跡が残っています。

津波が押し寄せてきた高さの証です。

漁港の岸壁には、震災前の様に、ウィークデイに開く魚市場と日曜・祝日に開く港朝市が再建され去年５月から活気が戻りました。

隣接してカナダ政府のご支援で建てられた「メイプル館」――ゆりあげキッチン＆ギャラリー――物産館と震災の記録コーナーもあります。ともに復興の証です。

Guide to “Hiyoriyama-hill” in Yuriage near Sendai

——–Visiting Tsunami hit area ——-

I am a member of volunteer guide group in Sendai, providing guiding service to sightseeing spots and Tsunami hit area in English. When international tourists request us to guide to Tsunami hit area, we will offer the area will be Gamo, Arahama, Yuriage and Sendai Airport if the condition is near Sendai.

In the case of without any special request of the site, we will guide tourists to “Hiyoriyama-hill” in Yuriage. The reasons are there is a hill near the coast line on which fishermen watched the sea to judge the today’s

catch, you can see fields everything washed away by Tsunami in all directions, and despite very small hill of

6.3m height it has small shrine, a memorial tower and one pine tree. You can pray their soul may rest in

peace. There is an evidence of the Tsunami height of an injury on the trunk of a pine tree.

As the symbol of recovery the fish wholesale market was rebuilt on the fisherman’s pier and fish retail market on holidays was also rebuilt. Near the market “The Maple”-an exhibition hall was built by the support of Canadian Government. It has local products shops and a section of records of the disaster.
